    Tradition & innovation

The name Jaeger LeCoultre (JLC) is borne out of the collaboration between two watchmakers, Jacques-David LeCoultre and Edmond Jaeger. Although founded by Antonie LeCoultre, grandfather of the former, in 1833, the union of both parties transformed the brand positively. JLC is a brand known for creating timepieces that blend tradition with innovation. They also combine Swiss ideas with French techniques to create watches. JLC is highly known for its innovative prowess and have  an array of watches for both men and women. Over the years, the brand has secured close to 400 patents and produced over 1200 movements. They were also the first brand to add Sapphire crystals in mass watch production.

How good are Jaeger LeCoultre watches?

JLC is a brand known for maintaining its long, rich tradition in watchmaking. They are keen on preserving their brand’s integrity by developing innovative designs that take the watch market by storm. An example is the JLC Joaillerie 101 Manchette, recognized as one of the world’s most expensive timepieces. It features a series of diamond set links and the caliber 101 movement. JLC provides an eight year warranty on their watches, a remarkable six years more than most brands.  Every JLC watch passes through over a thousand hours of tests before leaving the factory. Without a doubt, JLCwatches are great to own.

Where are Jaeger LeCoultre watches made?

Now under the Richemont Group, JLC still maintains their manufacture at Le Sentier in the Vallee de Joux. The factory covers many land spaces and buildings dedicated to different purposes. They are known for creating their movements. An interesting fact about JLC is that they have made movements for top brands like Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, and Vacheron Constantin. If you own any of these brands’ timepieces, there is a chance that JLC made their movements.

How much is my Jaeger LeCoultre watch worth?

JLC is undeniably one of the high-end luxury watches, but the question remains: do all luxury watches hold their value? When you compare JLC to low-end luxury brands, you are looking at good resale value for your timepiece. Because they are made of high-quality materials and feature great complications, pre-owned JLC watches are popular on the secondary market.
